Never a bestselling author

I’m currently reading this book by Belle de Jour…called “The Intimate Adventures of a London Callgirl”…and I am constantly amazed by the similarities I’m finding. Ok, she’s a callgirl and has numerous strange sexperiences on a weekly basis…BUT, that aside, the resemblances are remarkable. She’s constantly expressing my thoughts!

The book is written in blog style (an yes, it differs from regular diary style) and she’s probably around the same age as me and maybe I’m bound to find similarities in the way of thinking and lifestyle… On one hand, it’s fun to read it and go: “Exactly!”, “Yes, I’ve thought the same.”…and so on. But, on the other hand, she has expressed thoughts on topics about which I have a) also written about already, b) have been planning to write or c) would like to write. I guess there goes my chance of ever publishing a book:)

interesting....it's now in the list of my blogfavourites...i wonder when do i get the offer for a paperback:)...or lee, for that matter.

i will never get an offer like that, 'os my thoughts and posts are of no interest to a person "off the street" .. they are more or less statements of the obvious .. nothing new gets uncovered, nothing old gets recycled .. same shit, different day type of thing .. you, however, have a better chance, as you write about people and situations .. and as the stories get longer and more in-depth, the probability of a book-offer grows infinately stronger .. and i'll be expecting an autographed copy

She may well be more ordinary than you think. See the Times article at http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-1543466,00.html

To Pauli: I guess she might be, but the article still doesn't confirm anything, does it?
I've also pondered the possibility of it being a complete fiction and i don't mind if it is, because it's a clever one and a really long project in that case...would really like to see this Belle in person, though:) and would happily take on the job of translating her book into Estonian:)
