Anouk - Losing my religion

I found this song today, when PM kindly advised me to listen to Anouk's Lost. and i think it's a brazilliant cover of Losing my religion. Take a listen!

Good Charlotte - I Just Wanna Live live in Tallinn

I went to Good Charlotte concert on..what was it..Wednesday. And it mad me sick! No i'm just kidding. It was a good concert. All the fans were small enough so i could actually see the stage. Joel has a very good voice and they were excellent in communicating with the crowd. Even if they do the same at every concert, they did it so naturally that it was really believable. And they requested Tallinn to be added on their tour list specifically, so, i give them credit for that.
Now, about the sick part. I'm ill:( I've got this really bad cold and i am not showing my face in public, but you can send all the good wishes to me through various modern communication channels:)

I'm a lecturer now

You know how people tend to make all kinds of lists. Like for instance: Things to do before i turn 30 or 40 or 50. Or things to do before i die. Well, i took a test of my predicted life expectancy and it turns out i'll live to be 89 years old. I always thought i won't make it past 88 but who knows:) So, as there's still a long way to go i decided i'll make a different kind of list, something like: Thing's i've already done before i turn 30, 40 ...or dead. That means, i should start noting down the "big things", that make it to the list, like for instance ...

...Give a lecture on media to 15 various marketing people. Check.

...Did this one today. In the morning i checked myself from the mirror and though if there's any way they'd take me seriously. But they listened and asked lots of questions, so i take it, it was interesting enough. I wasn't even nervous, which was strange.

Esimene lumi:)

This is what my town looks like this morning. And let me just remind you, it's 26th of March, the spring has officially started and it's supposed to be plus 10C degrees this upcoming weekend. But today..today's the day when all the snow which stayed in heaven for the whole winter long, has suddenly started falling down. It's very romantic and all but as you see, the cars are trapped in and it's cold and windy. Just give me a day off, a fireplace, a glass of wine and a good book!

Perfectly lazy Sunday

Oh, the bliss of lazy Sundays, spent in the company of friends, chilling, laughing and eating. The last Sunday was one of them. My little flat was almost covered by my dear friends as most of them were sitting/half-lying on all possible surfaces from floor to couch. We started the brunch at 1 and ended at 7, in the 6-hour time slot, we ate all i had prepared, plus all the leftovers i had in the fridge, we laughed like crazy and watched some mindless TV programs. A fair share of sarcasm was flying around, as always, and we decided that the only bad thing about those brunches is that there’s too few of them. Point taken!

Late night encounters

I am standing at the bus station, waiting for my last bus home when suddenly a fancy car stops - some kind of an expensive mercedes, to be more precise. A middle aged man inside asks me if i speak English. The whole situation resembles the scene from Pretty Woman, except for the fact that he isn't as handsome as Richard Gere and i am not a hooker. Anyway, he then asks me if i know any good saschlik restaurant around...!?! While he's conversating with me he pulls out...no, not what you think...he pulls out a nail file and starts polishing his nails!?! Ehm...okay...I can't help the well-groomed man, though, and at this very moment my bus arrives so i can't explore the situation any further.

Rihanna - Please Don't Stop the Music (Live in Tallinn)

And then there was Rihanna. This was on Sunday. She was ok, i mean, the concert was good, but not amazing. But she looked gorgeous.
...and this is turning into a videoblog...a vlog...

Koop - Forces (live in Tallinn)

Another short Koop performance video. Since this is the one i wanted to post originally, here it is for you.

Koop - I See a Different You (live in Tallinn)

I guess i've mentioned that it's concert season for me. On Friday i had the chance to listen to the Swedish band Koop. I've liked their music for a while now and as expected, loved their performance as well. Mind you, i would have prefered the song "Let's Elope" to be sung by male voice, like it is on the record but all-in-all, it was a really good concert. And kudos to Rock Cafe - they still are my favourite concert venue in Tallinn and Koop fit in there ideally.

Business woman

I had to fly to Stockholm yesterday - just to have a 3-hour client meeting. You can be sure i took the most of the opportunity and incorporated some after-business shopping into the day:)
If you are interested, the meeting went well, so did the shopping and i had completely forgotten how much i like Stocholm. So, when the weather gets better and warmer i definitely plan to visit it again. Who's interested in joining, let me know.

I can't wait for the weekend to begin

So, what's up in my life, you ask. And i answer - a lot of work at office hours and a lot happening after hours. Concerts, salsa, butterflies, movies, TV shows, celebrations.... S and J arrived yesterday, it's so good to see them again. I could finally give S her Christmas present and a little gift from Morocco and i got my present, a beautiful dress. She does know what i like:) (I'm gonna have to write more about people's different taste and gifts soon.)

And now, even though there's a lot of work to do, i feel like it's Friday. Waiting for the weekend...

I can't wait for the weekend to begin

I'm workin' all week long
I dream the days away
I wanna' sing my song
So let the music play

I can't wait for the weekend to begin

I'm savin' all my soul
And all my pain
So I can lose control
On Sa-turday
I'm gonna' blow it all away

Chris Rea Looking for Summer live in Tallinn 2008

I went to see the old master Chris Rea (pronounced "Ree-ah") in concert. Can't say i'm a fan, i think i'm just a bit too young to be a fan, but i do know some songs and i like his voice. What he can do with guitar is rather spectacular, too.
The concert was OK, though it could have been very good in a different location - somewhere smaller and more intimate - like Rock Cafe. But it was ok for the after-party day:)

We've come this far

Yesterday i was reading a magazine and suddenly wanted to know what the time was. Guess what i did? I checked the bottom right corner of my magazine, expecting to find the clock there. This is how far we've come with technology and computers....

Happy V-day, my dears!

No I
I won't send this Valentines
(Oh my)
Violets are blue
(I won't send it)
And if you don't receive this Valentines
(I won't pretend that)
Doesn't mean that it ain't true
And I'm not thinking of you

Sniffer

Last night i was sniffing my freshly washed sheets, again. It's a very healthy habit. Don't you agree?

Korn in Tallinn 2008

Some of you might wonder, what the hell was i doing at KoRn concert and you have every right to wonder. It is not really my kind of music. But it is my brother's kind of music and i went just to see the show. I must admit i did not become a fan but i give them credit for creating such an amazing energy at the concert. It was rather amazing. Just take a look at the sea of jumping people. Respect! And my brother said it was excellent and i take his word for it!

List of things to make and do for a great party night and the day after

1. Have some time to get ready and make yourself beautiful. It’s all about feeling fabulous.
2. Eat something before you start drinking.
3. Listen to good music.
4. Party with the people you like and trust. Why waste your time with anyone not worthy?
5. Drink something you like for the taste and not because it gets the job done of making you drunk.
6. Go out somewhere to dance. Definitely! Til your feet hurt. You know there’s a dancing queen/king in you, let her/him out.
7. Have some food at your place. Sometimes even your trustworthy after-party-snack-place can be out of stock and let you down. But you need some food, as the alcohol and dancing will surely make you hungry and with some food in system the next morning is easier.
8. Don’t eat all the food at night, at least have some eggs for the omelet in the morning/afternoon. You will not be strong enough to go grocery shopping. Whatever’s in the fridge, there should be enough for two. You might come home with someone or there might be some tired friend who needs to crash at your place.
9. Aspirin. Soluble. Have one before going to sleep.
10. Have a bottle of water by your bed. Drink a lot. Dehydration is bad for your body.
11. Have an easy-reading book ready for the next day, or some DVD-s or a computer to watch TV shows online. You are not always lucky enough to get something like Mythbusters or comparably suitably mindless programming on TV.
12. Do not plan meetings or dates for the day after. It is fairly possible that you look like shit. You can, however, share the day with the aforementioned likeable and trustworthy people you spent the previous night with. They won’t judge you.
13. Train your mum not to call before 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. It’s polite to answer her calls but it’s equally polite of her to not call while you’re still having your rest.

Vegetable

Another night out and another almost dead day after. Another Angel visit. The starting point and the reason for party varies (J's birthday this time) but the final destination is still the same. It's always fun, i give you that, but it's getting just a wee bit old. Drinking, dancing, the walk home, feet hurting, sleeping til afternoon and vegetating throught the rest of the day. I'm so looking forward to a fully functional day tomorrow. There's an article to be written and my house to be cleaned and Korn concert to be seen.

The rest on tonight will be spent on the newly bought books, some more Californication and just maybe some laundry, if i can find the strength in me.
